Bengaluru: The Jalahalli police have booked eight senior officials of Hindustan Machine Tools (HMT) Ltd. based on a complaint filed by a businessman alleging that the public sector unit failed to pay his dues amounting to Rs. 16 lakh for supply of raw material.

D. Manokaran, owner of Sri Shakti Industries in Rajajinagar, approached the 7th Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate on Wednesday, which issued a direction to the Jalahalli police to file a first information report (FIR). The court directed the police to probe into the matter and submit a report within three months from the date of registration of the FIR.

Manokaran said that he had supplied raw material to HMT in 2015 for which the company owed Rs. 18,11,196. But he was given a cheque for only Rs. 2,22,194 on December 4, 2015.
