Bengaluru: Acting on a tip-off that a pub located at Bengaluru’s Indiranagar was allegedly forcing its women employees to perform obscene acts for the pub customers, the city police, on Saturday night raided the premises and rescued 32 women.

Six persons, including the manager of the Mango Tree Restorbar were arrested during the raid.

As per the reports the rescued women, mostly hailing from West Bengal and other north Indian states were being forced to perform dances wearing skimpy clothes for the pub’s customers in a bid to keep them enticed. It is not yet known if the pub even acted as a pick-up joint. The rescued women, who have been lodged at the State Home for Women will be questioned to gather further details about the activities at the pub.

Jeevanbheema Nagar Police have registered a case under section 370 (A) and 294 of the IPC for trafficking people for exploitation and for obscenity. Meanwhile, it is also learnt that Mohammad Nalapad was trying to interfere in the police investigations.
