Bengaluru: Two history-sheeters who allegedly attacked policemen were shot at by the police in Talaghattapura station limits on Sunday, April 1.

According to the police, the accused — Paramesh, 30, and Santhosh, 28, who were wanted in several cases registered by Talaghattapura and Kaggalipura police —sustained injuries to their legs and were arrested later.

Following a tip-off, the police waylaid the car in which the accused were travelling near NICE Road at 6.30 a.m. Santhosh allegedly tried to attack the policemen with a machete while Paramesh allegedly opened fire at them.

However, the policemen managed to dodge the bullets, officials said. The police then fired at them in self-defence, officials said. The police said that Santosh first rushed towards them with a machete, while Paramesh followed with a pistol.

Paramesh is injured in the knee and undergoing treatment at Victoria Hospital.
