Bengaluru: A police informer was brutally murdered by a group of miscreants at Kamalanagar in Basaveshwara Nagar, Bengaluru on Saturday, January 25 night.
The deceased has been identified as Prabhu aka Appu (27).
According to reports, Prabhu was working on a cheque-transaction section of Sri Siddeshwara Co-operative Bank and simultaneously, working as an informer with the police in relation to the theft cases.
The police informed that Prabhu was heading back home when a group of miscreants started following him and stabbed him from behind several times with a knife before fleeing the spot. After severe bleeding, Prabhu died on the spot.
The police have suspected this murder to be an act of revenge by a few individuals who were arrested earlier, based on information provided by Prabhu.
The Basaveshwara Nagar Police reached the spot, assessed the situation, and filed a case in this regard.
