Bengaluru: Well known theatre personality, activist, play director S Raghunandan rejected the Kendra Sangeet Natak Academi award citing the increasing attack on minorities, food habits of the people, mob lynching etc.
In a letter sent to the registrar, Kendra Sangeet Natak Akademi, New Delhi, Raghunandan made it clear that he was thankful to them for choosing him.
“Those who are in power at the Centre are infusing violent thoughts in the minds of the people. Communalism is injected in the young blood. Leaders like Kanhaiya Kumar are charged with sedition. I am rejecting the award in protest against all these,” he stated.
