Bengaluru: Essential drugs will not be available across the state in the medical stores as the All India Organisation of Chemists and Druggists has called for a 24 hours bandh in protest against the proposed E-pharmacy policy.

According to the organisation state unit vice president Devidas P Prabhu, the bandh will start on September 27 midnight and continue till 28 midnight.

“A total of 27,000 medical shops across the state will participate in the bandh,” he said.

According to Prabhu, the E-pharmacy policy is against the interest of the patients and may lead to a spur in the fake medicines which may affect the public health.

“The central government is trying to bring new policy without proper consultation and checks and balances,” he alleged.
