Bengaluru: Popular Front of India, a Muslim political organisation has said that they would be filing a case against Udupi-Chikkamagaluru MP Shobha Karandlaje of the BJP, for using provocative statements.
I can be recalled that on Saturday, the BJP MP had lashed out at the Tablighi Jamaat for “spreading coronavirus”, even going so far as to dub the “corona jihadis”.
The PFI alleged that the use of the word ‘jihad’ was intended to stoke religious tensions, which is why PFI state secretary A K Ashraf said that their state committee has decided to file a case against the MP. He added that they will be discussing how to go about the task by discussing the same with their legal team.
So far, MP Karandlaje has not reacted to the development.
