Bengaluru: Owing to the spike in Covid-19 cases in the neighbouring states of Kerala and Maharashtra, the state is on alert for a second wave, and passengers from both states will be monitored meticulously.
Hinting at the possibility of a second wave, Karnataka Health Minister, K Sudhakar said that the pandemic is not behind us.nd wave of COVID-19.
He added that passengers from Kerala and Maharashtra will not bee allowed to enter teh border without producing a negative RT-PCR certificate not older than hours
He also mentioned that he has written to the Home MInsiters and Deputy Commissioners of all districts from the bordering states to call for aa video conference and devise a plan of action.
As per the Bulletin issued by the Karnataka health department on February 18, 386 people tested positive for coronavirus outnumbering the recoveries that stand at 291.
