Bengaluru: The Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) chairman Dr G Parameshwar has directed media not to rake up controversy surrounding who will be the next chief minister.
Visibly upset by the Chief Minister Siddaramaiah’s statement that he will be the chief minister aspirant even for the second term, Dr G Parameshwar told reporters on Monday that party will face the 2018 election under the leadership of Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. But party high command will decide who will be the next CM.
“We are going to face the election under the leadership of all. AICC president Sonia Gandhi wants us to defeat BJP and JDS. She has not told any thing about next CM, ” he said.
“I am the party president and only my statements are official. Don’t write what others say,” he told media.
Meanwhile, home minister Ramalinga Reddy has made it clear that Siddaramaiah will be the party CM if party returns to power in 2018. “We are going to face the 2018 general election under his leadership. So, naturally, he is the CM candidate,” he said.
