Bengaluru: Even though the JDS and Congress state leaders have claimed that the state government is stable and strong, the BJP is continuing its efforts to bring down the coalition government.
According to sources, BJP state president B S Yeddyurappa is planning to lure JDS and Congress MLAs from Lingayat dominated constituencies, as it is easy for him to get them re-elected.
A senior party leader informed Newskarnataka.com that the BJP has lost faith in Gokak MLA and former minister Ramesh Jarakiholi. “Because of him, efforts to carry out ‘Operation Kamala’ failed three times. This time, the strategy has been changed and all Lingayat MLAs from the ruling partners will be approached,” he said.
“B C Patil and a few other MLAs are already expressing their grouse against their respective parties. We are hopeful of positive results,” he said.
According to sources in the BJP, MLAs loyal to former CM Siddaramaiah are not willing to join the BJP saying that they are confident that the Congress will return to power in the 2023 Assembly election.
