Bengaluru: A quack, who joined the government health department by furnishing fake certificates has finally landed in police net.

Shocking but true, a B.Sc Nursing graduate identified as Vikas, from Mudhol in Bagalkot worked in several primary health centres across Chitradurga and Gadag districts as a physician and even performed crucial post-mortems.

Over the last four years, Vikas has served in several places and has performed over 36 post-mortems.
The details of his fraud were known only when his documents were verified and soon he was handed over to Chithradurga police after his fraud was confirmed.

He had created fake documents to get the job of a physician and over the last four years, he worked swiftly without giving any scope for complaints.

“He was generally opting for night shift and hence he remained safe because there was nobody tracking his duty,” police said adding that performing 36 postmortems is not an easy task as it requires a lot of skill.
“The court has handed him to the police custody. Once the health department concludes its investigation we can get a clear picture,” police added.
