Bengaluru: Revenue minister Kagodu Thimmappa has stated that the revised Anti-superstition Bill has not brought him any satisfaction. He added that he is helpless over bringing a more stringent law.
Speaking to reporters, Kagodu who is also the chairman of the sub committee formed by the state government to look into the bill and revise the draft said they wanted a stringent bill. “We discussed with all the stakeholders. Unfortunately, we were not able to prepare a bill as per our requirements,” he said.
He also stated that this bill will be a new beginning. “There will be conflict. It will lead to better understanding of a few realities,” he said.
“Good and bad people are in all the parties. So there is no need to brand anyone or any party,’ he said.
Meanwhile, the state government is expected to present the modified bill in the upcoming state legislative session.
