Bengaluru: Former Chief Minister Siddaramaiah made it clear that it is not possible to field Sumalata, widow of former union and state minister MH Ambareesh from the Mandya Lok Sabha constituency in the upcoming general elections.
“We have left Mandya to the JDS. JDS will field its candidate from Mandya. So no question of fielding or supporting Sumalata from Mandya,” he stated. “Incumbent MP from Mandya belongs to JDS. How can we ask the seat,” he questioned.
He declined to react to the possibility of Sumalata contesting as an independent candidate with the help of the local Congress leaders.
