Non availability of alcohol: 13 persons commit suicide in state

Bengaluru: Since the implementation of lockdown as many as 13 persons committed suicide in the state as they didn’t get alcohol for consumption.

This number is larger than the number of persons who died due to the Covid 19. Three persons have so far died due to Coronavirus so far in the state.

According to the cumulative list, on Monday, three persons committed suicide in Shivamogga, Chikkaballapura and Kolar taking the total number of persons committed suicide to 13.

Meanwhile, unconfirmed reports speak of two deaths in Dakshina Kannada district as well.

The ban on the liquor sale is expected to continue beyond April 14, keeping in mind the public safety. Due to the ban on the vehicle movement, supply of the spurious liquor is also stopped.
