Bengaluru: Former Chief Minister, state coalition government convener Siddaramaiah has made it clear that there is no question of stopping the Tipu Jayanti celebrations in the state.
Speaking at an event in Bagalkot, on Saturday evening, he stated that Tipu was a real patriot, who fought for the cause of the country and hence it is meaningful to celebrate his birth anniversary.
“A section in the society is not ready to accept his contributions. He was a real secular leader. He contributed immensely for the cause of the Hindus, Hindu temples and also seers, but such facts are hidden,” he said adding that no matter who comes to power, the Tipu Jayanthi will continue.
He also stated that he chose B Z Zameer Ahmed Khan for the minister post as he is pro-people person and knows how to organise the party.
