Bengaluru: Even though the state capital Bengaluru has witnessed three cluster outbreaks i.e., one in a nursing college and two in apartments, health minister Dr K Sudhakar who is also the state medical education minister made it clear that there is no question of another lockdown in the state.

“We are monitoring the situation. Those who are arriving from Kerala are asked to undergo mandatory RTPCR test. There is no question of another lockdown, or seal downs,” he stated.

He also informed that Covid 19 is under control in the state.

He also justified the education department’s decision to restart classes for students from standard VI saying the decision has been taken after consultation with the experts.

“The Covid 19 has not been eradicated. It is under our control. To eradicate, we need to continue with the practices like mandatory masks, social distancing and hand hygiene,” he said.

Minister’s statement came amidst fear of Covid 19 second wave in the state.

Karnataka has registered over 9,46,000 Covid-19 cases till now of which 12,273 people died and 927,924 have recovered. The state is among the worst hit regions in the country along with Maharashtra and Kerala.
