No owner can ask medicos to vacate rented house: CM BSY issues stern warning

Bengaluru: Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa has issued a stern warning to all the house owners of medical staff across the state, stating that forcing the medical staff to vacate the houses will be considered as an offence.

The reports of medical staff who are serving the COVID-19 cases and are largely responsible in battling the pandemic are being asked to vacate their rented accomodation by the owners who fear that they may bring home the virus.

The CM has said that this amounts to obstructing a government workers from delivering his duty and has directed the Deputy Commissioners, Commissioners of Police, Municipal Commissioners to initiate penal action against such landlords in their jurisdiction.

After Delhi medicos spoke about the issue, several reports came to light from various parts of the state.

Talking about the same, on Thursday, the CM said that no house owner should resort to such an offence at the time of crisis.
