No hike in engineering course fees this year: COMEDK Director

Bengaluru: In a big relief to lakhs of engineering aspirants, private engineering colleges have decided against demanding an increase in the course fee this year.

This decision has been taken after only 6,434 engineering seats out of 16,216 seats (under the COMEDK All-India quota) were filled last year. However, the demand for government-quota seats in private colleges continued to be healthy.

COMEDK Executive Director S Kumar confirmed that there will not be an upward revision of the engineering fee. “Last year many colleges slashed the fee. Still, demand is poor,” he said.

Meanwhile, COMEDK will hold COMEDKUGET examination for engineering and other non-health care courses on May 10.
