Bengaluru: Rebel MLA and veteran Congress leader Ramalinga Reddy clarified here on Saturday, July 13, that he would not speak a word on state politics until the State Legislative Assembly’s monsoon session resumes on Monday, July 15.

He said, “I will be meeting the Karnataka Legislative Assembly Speaker Ramesh Kumar on July 15 as he has called me for a meeting. Until and unless I meet and discuss with him, I want to avoid commenting on any political development in the state.”

“Let me be very clear that I have not influenced the minds of any Congress leaders in order to submit their resignations. I request everybody to kindly not derive any conclusion and look at the Bharatiya Janata Party leaders meeting me at my residence in a different perspective”, he added.

He mocked at the news by various media sections about him meeting the leaders of different political parties. He said, “I am not aware which leader went and met whom, as leaders across all party lines come to meet me.”

It may be recalled that Ramalinga Reddy, who had expressed his disgruntlement over the way the Congress-Janata Dal (S) state coalition government had dealt with him and sidelined the senior leaders in the Congress party. Later, he had submitted his resignation to Speaker Ramesh Kumar and said that he would stay in the party but would not continue as a legislator.
