New Delhi/Bengaluru: There are all possibilities of Union government seeking help from Nandan Nilekani, Non-Executive President of software giant Infosys, to design information technology system set-up for its ambitious project National Health Protection Scheme (NHPS). The project was declared in the Union budget.
Just like Aaadhar, NHPS also demands huge set-up of information technology. As the project is very huge, the system needs to be extended according to the growth of the project.
Nandan Nilekani has worked with the Union government on various major projects. He was the president of Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI), which implemented Aadhar. He is also the member of GST Return submission simplification committee.
“The NHPS needs a similar model like of Aadhar. We have contacted Nilekani and he has agreed to help us”, said an official of NITI Aayog.
