Bengaluru: The bodies of newly married couple was fished out of river Cauvery, near Shivanasamudra in Mandya district.
The hands and legs of both the bodies were found tied and this has left the police wondering if the two were victims of honor killing.
According to the Belakavadi police who are investigating the case, on November 14, they had recovered bodies of a male and female from river Cauvery and their probe led them to know that the deceased are Nandish and Swathi, both residents of Krishnagiri in Hosur.
When they intensified the investigation they found that both of them got married recently amid stiff opposition from their parents as they belong to different castes.
“We will continue our investigation from all the angles,” police informed.
