Bengaluru: The National Highway 275, which connects Mysuru with Bantwal developed cracks at Kaatikeri village, five kilometres from Madikeri town. This road also connects Bengaluru, Mysuru and Kodagu with the coastal Karnataka.
According to the locals, the road developed cracks in the evening after heavy rainfall in the area and the waterlogged on the road because of the retaining wall made using sandbags.
Kodagu DC Annies Kanmani Joy informed that the issue has been brought to the notice of the National Highway Authority of India (NHAI). “The entire stretch has been made single lane and vehicle movement is regulated.
“Heavy vehicles are already banned on this road. Goods vehicles are diverted via Sakaleshapur road,” informed an officer form the district police.
