MP Pratap Simha aids poor patient for kidney transplant

Mysuru: Mysuru–Kodagu Member of Parliament Pratap Simha in news off late in various social media platforms has hit the headlines again, this time by donating money to a patient from a poor background suffering from renal failure to undergo kidney transplant.

The MP released Rs 1,12,811 towards medical expenses of Manjunath, a resident of N R Mohalla in the city from the Prime Minister’s Relief Fund.

Manjunath was undergoing treatment for renal failure at JSS Hospital. Doctors here had advised him to undergo kidney transplant at the earliest. Mother Shivamma agreed to donate her kidneys and gave her consent to the doctors to go ahead with the surgical procedure.

Manjunath hailing from a poor family did not have enough financial resources to undergo the expensive kidney transplant procedure. Unable to bear the cost, family members had approached MP Pratap Simha for financial assistance.

MP went ahead with the release of funds by means of which patient Manjunath underwent surgery. He has recovered completely post surgery, according to doctors treating him.
