Bengaluru: If everything goes according to plan, MLC B M Farooq, a businessman from Mangaluru will join Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy’s Cabinet on June 12.
According to leaders in the JDS, party supremo H D Deve Gowda directed CM HDK to induct Farooq into the cabinet in order to strengthen the party’s presence in coastal Karnataka and give representation to the minority communities.
Farooq, brother of former Mangaluru North MLA Mohiuddin Bava, was elected as MLC in June 2018. He is now considered to be very close to the JDS’ first family.
