Bengaluru: Primary and Secondary Education Minister Suresh Kumar reassured SSLC students that they need not worry about the fact that the Preparatory Examination question papers were leaked. He also said that the question papers for the preparatory exams were the responsibility of individual school principals.

In a video posted to Facebook on Saturday, February 22, the minister emphasised that neither the preparatory exams nor the main board exams will be postponed. He said, “First of all, the ongoing SSLC Preparatory Exams will not be postponed for any reason whatsoever. They will go on as per the schedule. Secondly, there is a lot of difference between these Preparatory exams and the board exams. The main exams have their own system and formula. These Preparatory exams are to make sure that the students know the question paper pattern of the main exams.”

It can be recalled that the mathematics and english question papers of the SSLC Preparatory Exams were leaked last week. As the leaked papers went viral on social media, complaints were raised against the inadequate packaging of the question papers.

Kumar further said, “Out of 15,000 SSLC schools, nearly 2,000 schools have already conducted the exams. The remaining schools are writing the exams right now. We sent the question papers to these schools three days ago, The examination, as well as grading the papers, takes place in the respective schools itself. Hence, it is the principal of that respective school who is responsible for the handling of question papers.”

“Anyway, we are doing this to make sure the students know how to face the main exams. There is no need to be scared of the main exam papers leaking as I have already held discussions with the deputy commissioners, police personnel, and other authorities of each district. It is my belief that the exams will be held successfully, like it has been going on all these years,” he added.
