Bengaluru: Textile and Minority Welfare Minister Srimanth Patil threw a new challenge to the officials of Department of Personnel and Administrative Reforms, leaving them running from pillar to post.

While most of the newly inducted ministers demand for high-end, new cards, Patil asked the officials to present before him a pre-2015 make Innova Car.

The Minister’s logic was that the Innova cars made before 2015 had Japanese engine, while the cars made after 2015 had engines made in India.

He believed that the Innova cars that were powered with Japanese engine provided better comfort to commuters.

The DPAR had managed to find 2015 model of Innova for him, but the Minister had specifically stated that the car given to him must be an Innova made before 2015.

Finally, after a long search the DPAR finally managed to get one car that was as per the minister’s specifications.
