Bengaluru: The residents staying around the iconic KRS dam in Srirangapatna of the Mandya district informed that they felt mild tremors on Thursday, July 11 afternoon. However, the Karnataka State Natural Disaster Monitoring Centre (KSNDMC) authorities, who were alerted by the locals, informed that the magnitude of the tremors was not recorded on the Richter scale installed in the KRS dam area.
According to the locals, the tremors were felt in Hulikere, Belagola, Hosaundavadi, Majjigepura, Bastivadi, Hongalli and the surrounding areas. All these areas fall between the Mandya and Mysuru districts.
According to the locals, mild tremors were reported in the area even in the month of April. Now, the repeated occurrence has created tension among the residents.
