Bengaluru: JDS supremo H D Devegowda, who had always said in the past that the coalition government was here to stay, has now shocked everyone with his latest statement predicting a mid-term poll.
The JDS Supremo has said that he is not sure as to how long the coalition will last.
“There is no doubt that this (midterm polls) will happen. I had assured support for full five years but the developments are there for everybody to see. People are aware enough to understand it. You (media) need not make them understand. People have seen enough elections in this country,” HD Devegowda is quoted on TNIE.
Devegowda added that leaders in the coalition seem to believe that the arrangement is hurting their party and believe that it should be called off.
HDD is further quoted questioning the decision of the Congress to approach the JDS without discussing with their high command.
“They suddenly came to us just because B S Yeddyurappa took the oath, ” he said.
