Bengaluru: Under the pressure from the ministers, Chief Minister B.S. Yediyurappa allowed mass transfer this year. The cap is fixed at 6% of the total number of employees in a department.
All these years only 5% cap was fixed on the transfers. This year it has increased.
According to the decision taken by the government, ministers will have final say in the transfers. They are authorised to take decisions on the transfers and postings.
According to the sources, initially CM was not in favour of mass transfers and giving the ministers a say in the transfers, fearing corruption on a large scale. However, under the pressure from the ministers he took this decision.
With ministers getting control over the transfer process, the officials fear that there may be rampant corruption in the entire process. The state government is likely to issue a detailed order in this regard in next couple of days.
