Mysuru: A surprising turn of events left a groom married to a relative instead of his intended bride after the latter eloped at the last minute.
Krishna Nayaka of Marbahalli and Nandini of H D Kote were engaged and their wedding was arranged at the Srikanteshwara temple in Ullahalli.
Everything seemed to be going well, however, while the wedding preparations were in full swing, Nandini allegedly escaped from under her parents’ and relatives’ noses with her lover in the early hours on July 9.
Fearing for the mental health of their son if the wedding was cancelled, Krishna’s parents ensured that he was married on the same day by getting him hitched to a relative.
