Bengaluru/New Delhi: In the chaos following the mass resignation of 11 Congress and JD(S) MLAs of the coalition government in the state, senior Congress leader Mallikarjun Kharge, on Saturday, July 6, stated that he had complete faith that the MLAs who resigned will stay and support the party.

According to a report by the news agency ANI, Kharge said that those of the Congress party who have now resigned from their posts as MLA, have been with the party for a long time. He added that he was confident that they would remain with the party and continue to support them.

The senior leader, who was in New Delhi at the time of the report, stated that he was leaving for Bengaluru and would comment further on the issue after taking a look at the ground situation.

In the meanwhile, ten of the dissident Congress and JD(S) MLAs were flown to Mumbai, as reported by ANI. Ramalinga Reddy, S T Somashekhar and Munirathna stayed behind in Bengaluru.
