Makara Sankranti: KSRTC to operate 250 to 300 additional buses

Bengaluru: In view of the Makara Sankranti festival, Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KERTC) has decided to operate 250 to 300 additional buses from January 12 till 15.

A press release stated that special buses will be operated from Kempegowda Bus Station to Dharmasthala, Kukke Subramanya, Shivamogga, Hassan, Mangaluru, Kundapura, Sringeri, Horanadu, Davangere, Hubballi, Dharwad, Belagavi, Vijayapura, Gokarna, Sirsi, Karwar, Raichur, Kalaburagi, Ballari, Koppal, Yadgir, Bidar, Tirupati and other places.

Special buses will be operated from Mysuru Road Bus Station towards Mysuru, Hunsur, Periyapatna, Virajpet, Kushalanagar and Madikeri routes.

The release stated that all premier special buses will be operated from Shanthinagar BMTC bus stand to Madurai, Kumbakonam, Trichy, Chennai, Coimbatore, Tirupati, Vijayawada, Hyderabad and other places in Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh.

Special buses will be operated from Sri Basaveshwara Bus Station, Vijayanagara, JP Nagar, Jayanagar 4th and 9th Blocks, Jalahalli Cross, Navarang (Rajajinagar), Malleswaram 18th Cross and Kengeri Satellite Town to Shivamogga, Davangere, Tirupati, Mangaluru, Kundapur, Sringeri, Horanadu, Kukke Subramanya, Dharmasthala and other places based on traffic potential, the release stated.

Passengers can book tickets online by logging on to www.ksrtc.in, the release added.
