Bengaluru: In a major administrative reshuffle, the state government transferred 10 IAS officers.
Rakesh Singh, BDA commissioner, who was under the constant attack by the BDA chairman and Yesvantpur MLA ST Somasekhar has been moved out of the authority.
Dr N Manjula has been appointed as the new commissioner of the BDA. The appointment of 2002 batch IAS officer Dr N Manjula is special because it is after two decades that a woman is taking charge of the BDA. It may be recalled that during 1995-99 the then chief minister HD Devegowda had appointed Lakshmi Venkatachalam as the first BDA Commissioner. Now, after 20 years, HD Devegowda’s son HD Kumaraswamy gave the BDA its second woman commissioner!
P Ravi Kumar, Mahendra Jain and BH Anil Kumar have been promoted as the Additional Chief Secretaries. AS Nakul has been appointed as the new DC of sensitive district Ballari.
Priyanka Mary Francis has been appointed as the new secretary to the Department of IT and BT. She was awaiting posting after she was transferred out of Hassan district as the DC.
