Bengaluru: It seems more trouble is brewing for major irrigation minister and Karnataka’s Congress strongman D K Shivakumar. The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has issued a summons to him in connection with the transportation of cash under the code word KG.
According to sources with the Congress party, DKShi informed about the latest summons to the party’s state leadership and senior leaders in New Delhi. “It is related to the Rs 8.6 crores seized from D K Shivakumar’s apartment in New Delhi,” informed sources.
“Along with D K Shivakumar, a few of his close associates also received the summons. He may get arrested if he fails to explain the source of the cash recovered from his apartment,” said sources in the ED.
According to the Congress leaders, one of the problems is that, if DKShi is arrested, it will help the BJP divide the Congress party easily. “Many of the party MLAs are afraid to join the BJP because they fear DKShi. So his arrest will mean the end of the coalition government,” explained a Congress MLA.
