Bengaluru: Even though the JDS and the Congress are running a coalition government in the state, it seems there is no end to the war of words between both the parties. The latest addition to this is the ‘beggar’ comment.
All started in Mysuru when reporters sought CM HD Kumaraswamy’s reaction on the Congress’ proposal to leave six Lok Sabha seats for the JDS in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections 2019.
Irked by this question CM HDK stated that the JDS is not the party of beggars to settle with such minimal numbers.
He stated that the 2019 general election is crucial for the entire country for several reasons. “We need to go together. Else country will face a lot of problems,” he warned.
“A decision on the final number of seats will be taken by the senior leaders of both the parties. It is not decided in Bengaluru,” he said.
As the beggar comment sent shock waves, former CM Siddaramaiah who is also the chairman of the coordination committee and Congress Legislature Party (CLP) hit back at CM HDK. “Neither JDS nor is the Congress a party of beggars. We are running a coalition government,” he reminded the CM.
