Bengaluru: Just a day after certain sections of the media reported that the Aero India show was being moved to Uttar Pradesh’s capital city, Lucknow, the defence ministry issued a clarification that the department was yet to make a final decision regarding the issue.
According to the authorities, Lucknow city is also in the race to be the venue for the air show. “The ministry has not yet made a final decision. The state government has been informed of the same. Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has also made this clear on August 4. The ministry will announce the date and time of the next Aero India show at the appropriate time,” the authorities informed.
Meanwhile, BJP leaders, led by Union Minister Anant Kumar, are holding informal talks with the defence ministry authorities to ensure that the show is not moved out of the city.
