Bengaluru: The Department of Public Instruction extended the last date to submit applications for free RTE seats till April 24.
Under the Right to Education(RTE), 25% of seats in notified schools will be distributed among the children from disadvantaged sections of the society for free of cost. As per the original calendar of events, April 8 was the last date to submit the application.
But due to the poor response from the parents, the DPI is now forced to extend the last date. According to the sources, with fewer seats available in the private unaided schools as per the revised RTE admission rules, the parents are not showing any interest in the available seats.
