K’taka issues revised guidelines for extended lockdown

Bengaluru: The state-wide lockdown to curb the spike in the second wave of Covid Pandemic in Karnataka has now been extended by another two weeks till June 7.

Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa, on Friday, May 21 announced that the decision to extend the state-wide lockdown restrictions by another two weeks was taken based on expert advice and after consulting his ministers and officials.

The chief minister made it clear that the restrictions have not changed, but he did note that people were not adhering to the lockdown rules, and he has given complete authority to the district commissioner and police department to take strict action against violators.

Except for emergencies, such as getting vaccinated or the travel of those working in essential services, public transportation, including state RTC buses and Bangalore Metro services, will remain prohibited.

Shops dealing with food, groceries, fruits and vegetables, dairy and milk booths, meat and fish, and animal fodder shall be allowed to function from 6 am to 10 am as before.
