Bengaluru: Health minister K Sudhakar said that CM BS Yediyurappa will make a decision about the extension of the lockdown in the state during today’s meeting.
Speaking to mediapersons here on Monday May 17, he stated that ministers are favoured the extension of the complete lockdown to contain the Covid spread in the state, which is reeling under the second wave.
He noted that new cases which were over 25,000 in a day in Bengaluru earlier declined to about 15,000 daily after the lockdown was imposed. He claimed that a lockdown extension would further reduce the caseload.
He added that now the cases are increasing in rural area and to prevent the spread of Covid in rural areas he will be conducting meetings with the DC’s.
“Cabinet ministers involved in the battle against the pandemic will meet today to assess the situation to decide on the next course of action in containing the disease,” he said.
