Bengaluru: The KSRTC and BMTC staff have planned an indefinite strike from April 7 seeking fulfillment of their various long-pending demands.

Earlier, the KSRTC staff held a strike between December 10 and 14, 2020. One of the major demands of the KSRTC staff is to consider them as government employees. The government is declining to accept this demand saying it may cause a huge financial burden for the state exchequer.

According to the sources, KSRTC union leaders are visiting every district to organise the bandh systematically. The state government too is planning to allow private vehicles to carry passengers by issuing temporary permission, it is reported.
