Bengaluru: The Karnataka Milk Federation (KMF) will announce milk and milk products price revision today.
The prices are expected to go up by Rs.2 to Rs. 3 for milk, curd and buttermilk.
According to KMF chairman Balachandra Jarakiholi, 14 milk unions have been demanding price revision to help the farmers who are affected by the flood. “In the executive committee meeting of the KMF, a decision in this regard will be taken,” he said.
He also stated that KMF will start selling organic, local breed cow milk soon. ” A litre of milk will be priced at Rs.75,” he said.
He also informed that the federation has requested for an increase in the milk incentive given by the state government to the milk producers from Rs.5 to 6 per litre
