Karnataka registers 130 new cases of COVID-19; Tally reaches 2089

Bengaluru: Karnataka registered 130 new COVID-19 positive cases on Sunday. The total cases in the state reached 2089 with the addition of new cases.

The new cases stood at 97 on Sunday morning, while the state tally was 2056.

No fatalities were reported today.

Chikkaballapura has the highest number of new positive cases with 27 and all the cases were that of returnees from Maharashtra.

Yadagir district that had only six cases in the morning shot up to 24 by Sunday evening. All the cases were returnees from Maharashtra.

Meanwhile, Udupi district that had 18 cases in the morning, shot up to 23 by evening. These are also cases of people travelling into the district from other states. Two policemen from the district posted in containment zone have been tested positive.

Remaining districts that reported positive cases are Mandya (15), Hasan (14), Kalaburgi (6), Bidar (6), Davangere (4), Tumakuru (2), Shivamogga (2), Uttara Kannada (2), Bengaluru Urban, Dakshina Kannada, Vijayapura, Dharwad and Kodagu had one case each.
