Bengaluru: The state government which is under pressure over re-starting the schools citing rampant child marriages, child labour, and other social evils, likely to re-start the Vidyagama 2 at the earliest.
A decision in this regard will be taken up by a taskforce headed by Department of Public Instruction (DPI) commissioner Anbu Kumar.
Last year as per the direction of the union government the state government had launched Vidyagama for the students. However it was cancelled due to various reasons including protests by the teachers.
Now the state government likely to introduce the scheme with a few modifications.
Meanwhile, the state government likely to start classes for institutes of higher learning soon as the vaccination drive for the students is almost completed.
