Bengaluru: The state government warned the private hospitals against holding the dead bodies over unpaid hospital bills.
In an order issued on Monday May 24 evening, all the hospitals are warned against forcing the relatives to pay full amount to get the bodies.
Earlier in many incidents reported from across the state, several private hospitals were alleged to have declined to hand over the bodies of Covid 19 victims citing unpaid bills. It led to social uproar.
According to the government order, if any hospital declines to hand over the body, registration of such hospitals will be cancelled.
