Bengaluru: The BS Yediyurappa-led Karnataka government has relaxed lockdown regulations again, allowing district registrar and sub-registrar offices to open on Monday, June 7.

Karnataka had prolonged the statewide lockdown to June 14 last week. CM Yediyurappa announced the extension, saying that while the rate of infection has decreased, the situation still needs to be controlled.

“We had already announced that from May 24 to June 7, there would be rigorous restrictions in place to prevent the spread of Coronavirus. Though the number of infections has decreased, the disease continues to spread. Following the advice of experts, the limits have been extended for another week, until June 14 morning,” Yediyurappa said at a press conference in Bengaluru.

Continuing its upward trend, recovery of patients from Covid crossed the 24-lakh mark in Karnataka, while 320 patients succumbed to the infection in the last 24 hours, said the state health bulletin on Sunday.
