Bengaluru: Senior Congress leader K J George on Thursday, January 16, appeared before the Enforcement Directorate in connection with a FEMA case.

It can be recalled that the former minister was summoned by the ED to appear before them today, in connection with the probable violation of the provisions of the Foreign Exchange Management Act (FEMA).

The Congress leader reportedly deposed before the law enforcement agency and was grilled for around four hours. The inquiry ended at about 4 PM.

Speaking to the media, he said, “I came here because I was summoned by the ED. They asked me questions and I answered them. I cooperated fully.”

He then said that the ED had asked him to furnish a few documents, which he reportedly said that he did. “They asked me for a few documents and I have submitted them,” he reportedly said.

The former minister then added, “Just because I appeared for the inquiry, doesn’t mean I am guilty. I was summoned, and so I cooperated,” he said.
