Bengaluru: A day after the All India Congress Committee (AICC) dissolved their Karnataka unit with the idea of reorganising the party from scratch, the ruling alliance partner, JDS is also likely to follow suit. If sources in the JDS are to be believed, the party is likely to dissolve its state unit and form a new team.
A senior JDS leader informed that party supremo and former prime minister H D Devegowda has proposed this strategy to his son, Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy. “The idea is to give opportunities to the young leaders and organise the party across the state,” he informed.
“Gowda is likely to retain the incumbent H Vishwanath as the party’s state unit president. Other office bearers will be replaced,” he explained.
