Bengaluru: JDS supremo H D Deve Gowda announced that the party will not tie up with any party, including the Congress,for the upcoming Urban Local Bodies (ULBs) election including that of the Mangaluru City Corporation.
He made this announcement after holding a meeting with the party leaders in the city. “The ULB elections for Mangaluru, BBMP, and other cities and towns will be held soon. In all these ULBs, the JDS will contest independently. Only in the case of a hung scenario, the party will join hands with others, including the Congress and independents,” he said.
“The JDS ruled in the BBMP continuously for 8 years. Pre-poll coalitions in the ULBs may affect the party, so there is no question of any pre-poll alliance,” he clarified.
Senior party leaders from across the state were present at the meeting.
