Bengaluru: The Janata Dal (Secular) released its second list with 57 party candidates here on Friday, April 20. The list includes the names of State president H.D. Kumaraswamy and working president P.G.R. Sindhia.
While the party had earlier released the list of 125 candidates, it is yet to announce for 22 constituencies. It has allocated 20 seats to the Bahujan Samaj Party as part of pre-poll alliance.
The party has announced Ramachandra as its candidate for Rajarajeshwari Nagar. Ramachandra had joined the JD(S) along with his daughter-in-law and actor Amulya last week after the BJP denied him the ticket.
Among the prominent party hoppers, who have been accommodated, include the two-time BJP MLA, Prakash Khandre, from Bhalki, the former BJP MLA, Hemachandra Sagar, from Chickpet, and the former MP and actor Shashikumar from Hosadurga.
Ravi Patil, brother-in-law of Congress leader Sathish Jarkiholi, who was denied a Congress ticket, has been given Raichur Rural reserved for Scheduled Tribes.
A one-time close confidante of Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Congress ticket aspirant P. Ramesh has been fielded from C.V. Raman Nagar.
The party has also accommodated the former BJP leader Managaladevi Biradar from Muddebihal.
The party also fielded Sindhia from Basavakalyan in Bidar district. He had earlier represented Kanakapura constituency. Sources in the party said that Sindhia has been fielded in Basavakalyan since the constituency has a sizeable Marathi-speaking population.
Kumaraswamy, who filed his nomination papers from Ramanagaram on Friday, has been announced as the party candidate from Channapatna.
