Bengaluru: A day after the two Assembly constituencies and 3 Lok Sabha constituencies by-election results were announced, in which the JD(S)-Congress alliance candidates put up an outstanding show, a Congress delegation led by party Karnataka in-charge K C Venugopal and KPCC president Dinesh Gundurao met JD(S) supremo H D Deve Gowda at his residence and discussed about the future of the alliance. However, two senior leaders of the Congress- former CM Siddaramaiah and major irrigation minister D K Shivakumar, who were in the city, remained absent.

According to the sources, the meeting lasted for over two hours and went on till late in the evening on Wednesday. “The Congress delegation urged the JDS leadership to take up the cabinet expansion drive at the earliest. It also wanted to know the feedback of the JDS on the future strategies to be adopted to keep the BJP at bay,” said a Congress leader.

“Congress leaders informed HD Deve Gowda that party’s list for the appointment for the various boards and corporations is ready and the state government must ensure that all the demands of the party legislators are fulfilled,” he added.
